John Scaffidi

John Scaffidi has spent more than four decades in mortgage lending, building his career around experience, relationships, and a commitment to doing right by his clients.
John began his mortgage lending career after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1982. Over the years, he went on to own Complete Mortgage, Inc., a mortgage company he founded and later sold to First State Mortgage in May 2010. In 2026, John joined Luminate Bank, bringing decades of lending experience and a long-standing team of mortgage professionals with him.
Experience That Runs Deep
John primarily focuses on conventional mortgage financing and offers extensive experience for borrowers navigating the homebuying process. He also has a background in construction lending, an area he is particularly excited to return to through Luminate Bank's broad range of mortgage products.
Construction lending is an important part of the Southeastern Wisconsin market, and John's experience in this area gives him a valuable perspective for borrowers considering building a home rather than purchasing an existing property.
While John is able to lend nationwide with Luminate Bank, he primarily serves borrowers throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, particularly the six-county area.
A Team Built to Last
One of the accomplishments John is most proud of is the longevity of his mortgage team.
His loan officers have worked alongside him for 20 to 30 years, remaining together through mergers, acquisitions and changes within the mortgage industry.
John believes that experience matters, which is why his team brings decades of combined knowledge to every transaction, along with a genuine dedication to the mortgage profession and the borrowers they serve.
For clients, that means having experienced professionals available to help answer questions, navigate the details, and keep the mortgage process moving from application through closing.

John has deep roots in Southeastern Wisconsin and is proud to serve the communities where he has built his career. His understanding of the local market, combined with decades of mortgage experience, allows him to provide knowledgeable guidance to homebuyers with a wide range of goals.
Whether a borrower is purchasing a home with Conventional financing or exploring the possibility of building a new home, John and his team bring the experience and personal attention needed to help clients understand their options.
Life Outside of Lending
John has been married to his wife, Sandy, since 1984. Family is an important part of his life, and he enjoys spending time with their daughter, Maria, and his two grandchildren, Alivia and Gianna, who are especially close to John and Sandy's heart.
John's daughter, Maria, was a member of the USA Gymnastics team and a Division I NCAA athlete. She is married to Jason, a firefighter and paramedic.
When he is not working with clients or his mortgage team, John enjoys following all kinds of sports.
After more than 40 years in mortgage lending, John's approach remains centered on the same principles that have guided his career: experience, relationships, teamwork and a commitment to providing borrowers with knowledgeable, dependable service.
